Countdown to the 2018 National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

Basketball on Wheels!

We are the Ft Lauderdale Sharks. Our team is comprised of men and women who use a wheelchair for their mobility whether it be a birth defect or due to a horrific accident.

We compete in basketball not just because we love the sport but also to spread awareness and educate people that being in a wheelchair isn’t the end but a new beginning and a fulfillment of life from a new perspective.

The National Wheelchair Basketball Association and Louisville Sports Commission are excited to play host to the 70th anniversary of the National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament (NWBT), presented by ABC Medical, on April 12-15 in Louisville, Kentucky. The NWBT has been held in Louisville since 2013, with this being the 11th time the tournament has called Kentucky home.
